HCN EVENTS FROM PAST YEARS

 

This is a list of notable events held by Hill Country Nudists from previous years:

2007 Events

  • December 31 - New Year's Eve Party - One of our newer members hosted a New-Years Eve Party for us. Happy New Year!
  • December 15 - Holiday Dinner - We celebrated the holidays with a Pot Luck and white elephant gift exchange.
  • November 17 - Thanksgiving dinner and Annual General Meeting - We elected the HCN board members for 2008 and had a great Thanksgiving Pot Luck.
  • November 10 - Movie Night Relaxing fun at one of our members home.
  • October 27 - Halloween Costume Party - Another great HCN Halloween party. There were a few great costumes and some body painting and we carved pumpkins as a group.
  • October 20 - Hike to Sculpture Falls @ 9:30AM - HCN members went for a hike along the beautifully flowing waters of Barton Creek! The water was still flowing and the hike was great.
  • October 13 - Croquet Party - HCN members had another afternoon gathering for Croquet
  • September 29-30 - Travel Weekend to Riverside Ranch - Some HCN members went to Riverside Ranch outside San Antonio. As one of the benefits of HCN membership, HCN paid for their entrance fee for this travel weekend event.
  • September 15 - Hike to Sculpture Falls - Another beautiful hike along the beautifully flowing waters of Barton Creek!
  • September 9 - Keep Austin Beautiful Cleanup - Assisted in the cleanup of our favorite park, Hippie Hollow.
  • Also on September 9 - Lunch at a local Restaurant - We enjoyed lunchtime dining in a private reserved room.
  • September 8 - HCN Boat Party - HCN's annual Boat Party on "The Ark", the biggest party boat on Lake Travis was another smashing success. It was great to see all of our friends from neighboring clubs.
  • August 11-12 - Travel Club Weekend @ Star Ranch - HCN members gathered at Star Ranch for their special Travel Club weekend for body painting in the afternoon and a 1960's dance
  • August 18 - Hippie Hollow Fun Day - HCN members gathered at Austin's bejeweled skinny dipping spot for some serious R&R in the sun!
  • August 4 - Hike to Sculpture Falls - HCN often does hikes along the beautifully flowing waters of Barton Creek. The recent rains have brought a lot of greenery and water to the area... making the hike to sculpture falls one of the best hiking experiences in Austin!
  • July 28 - Body Painting Party / Workshop - John and Connie hosting an Airbrush Body Painting Workshop! We used our imaginations as we applied paint to our own natural canvas! Then we enjoyed a potluck dinner.
  • July 15 - A Special Visit to the Figurative Gallery - HCN had been invited for a special nude viewing of the figurative art of Jessica Erickson at the Austin Figurative Gallery.
  • July 15 - Lecture on Nude vs. Lewd - Several members of HCN participated in a discussion at UT Campus on the topic of nude versus lewd in the context of art.
  • July 14 - Bastille Day Croquet Party - HCN members gathered at Paul's house for an afternoon of Croquet and frivolity!
  • June 2 - Dinner Out (al Fresco!) - HCN members enjoyed a wonderful evening of nude dining at our favorite local eatery near downtown Austin.
  • May 19 - Fun Day @ Hippie Hollow - We gathered for a day of fun swimming in the beautiful waters of Lake Travis at Hippie Hollow Park.
  • May 5 - Cinco de Mayo Celebration - HCN members gathered at Ted and Beth's for a day of fun and celebrated the important day in Mexican history of Cinco de Mayo.
  • April 28 - Eeyore's Birthday Party - HCN members attended one of Austin's most famous, and most eclectic, parties in celebration of Eeyore's birthday!
  • April 22 - Day Hike at Reimer Ranch - Fellow HCN members went on a nature hike at Reimer Ranch Park.
  • April 21 @ 5:00 PM - Massage Workshop / Tarot Readings - An outstanding massage workshop was held by Crystal and her fellow massage therapist Ted and everyone in attendance learned a lot about the theories of massage and effective techniques that could be used to relieve muscle pain.
  • April 14 @ 1:00 PM - 5K Bare Buns Run at Star Ranch - Several members of HCN attended the annual 5K race held at Star Ranch.
  • April 7 @ 11:00 AM - HCN Easter Egg Hunt - Connie and John hosted an Easter Egg hunt at their home following a delicious brunch!
  • February 24 - Gone Fishin' Party - Pisceans and Aquarians in HCN celebrated a very special birthday gathering at John and Connie's house at the Gone Fishin' Party. for a special birthday party!
  • February 4 - Super Bowl Party - HCN members gathered at Paul's house to watch the Super Bowl plenty of snacks were on hand as we watched a very exciting game indeed!
  • February 3 - Carnaval Brasileiro - HCN members enjoyed a great evening of Samba music and dancing at the biggest party in Austin!
  • January 20 - Nude Movie Night - John and Anne R. hosted a great movie night at their home. Popcorn and lots of snacks were available to nibble on while watching a couple of great movies!
  • January 7 - Christmas Tree Recycling - HCN volunteers participated in the City of Austin Parks and Recreation's Annual Christmas Tree Recycling program.
  • January 1 - Newd Year's Day Swim - Join your fellow members in our 5th Annual Newd Year's Swim in (warm?) Barton Springs to wake up the new year! Bring warm clothes and a towel!

2006 Events

  • Deccenber 16 - Robert and Kendrah hosted HCN's Annual Holiday Christmas Party. Featured was a great potluck meal highligted by Kendrah's great enchiladas! Also featured was a "White Elephant" style gift exchange. Many fun gifts were exchanged, some of them several times!.
  • November 18 - HCN members convened at Ted and Beth's home for a great evening of food and fun at the Annual Thanksgiving Party. As part of the event we held the General Membership Meeting and the board elections. The event was great fun and there was a huge amount of excellent food for the potluck! The elections were very successfull with several new faces elected to the board and every position filled!
  • November 5 - HCN members participated in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation's Race for the Cure.
  • October 21 - Steve and Crystal hosted the HCN annual Halloween Party at their home. Some of the most imaginitive costumes were seen and the potluck dishes were superb! Tarot Card readings and Ouija Board sessions punctuated the event. Lots of fun!
  • September 23 - HCN hosted it's 5th annual Boat Party event on Lake Travis at Hippie Hollow. It was great meeting fellow nudists from all over the region! We're already looking forward to next year's event!
  • September 10 - HCN members assisted Keep Austin Beautiful with a Hippie Hollow Cleanup.
  • August 12 - Steve B. and many nudist friends threw Crystal B. a great birthday party!
  • July 22 - HCN members attended a great pool party at John and Connie's. Thanks to the hosts for a great event!
  • July 16 - Movie At Alamo Drafthouse Downtown - HCN members enjoyed a special nude-optional screening of Doris Wishman's 1961 classic Nude on the Moon at one of the most unique theaters in Austin.
  • July 15 - Tie Dye Party at Paul's - Paul S. hosted a nude tie-dye party at his home where folks were able to experiment with new ways to create unique wearable art!
  • July 10-16 - Nude Recreation Week - HCN members celebrated the annual Nude Recreation Week event. Some went to Hippie Hollow for a relaxing day swimming in the waters of Lake Travis. Others visited the Ham Radio station out at Star Ranch for the Naturist Amateur Radio Club's Nude Rec. Week special event station.
  • July 1-4 - Independence Day Weekend @Star Ranch - HCN members gathered at Star Ranch for a weekend of sunshine au naturel, played volleyball and played petanque in celebration of the anniversary of our nation's independence.
  • April 29 - Eeyore's Birthday Party @ Pease Park - Members attended Eeyore's Birthday celebration at Pease Park, one of Austins' most eclectic costume parties!
  • April 9 - Hippie Hollow - HCN members spent a fun day swimming sans bathing suits at Austin's Hippie Hollow park.
  • April 8 - Sahnoan Bare Bun Run 5k - Several members participated in The Sahnoans' annual Bare Bun Run 5k race, a part of the annual AANR-SW Nude Racing Series.
  • April 1 - Privacy Fence Raising Party - Steve and Crystal put up a privacy fence ... with a little help from their friends! Now their backyard is officially nudable!
  • January 8th - HCN Christmas Tree Recycling - HCN volunteers participated in the City of Austin's annual recycling event that helps turn many otherwise-waste trees into useful soil material that many local gardeners have come to depend on, a truly worthwhile effort!

 

2005 Events

  • December 22 - Dinner Out - Some HCN members enjoyed dinner out with longtime friends Paul and Sandy R., HCN members who moved out of state but were visiting for the holidays.
  • December 17 - Christmas Party & Gift Exchange - Steve and Crystal B. hosted the annual HCN Christmas Party, which featured a wonderful selection of delicacies prepared by the attendees! The White Elephant gift exchage was certainly one of the best in recent memory! A great time was had by all!
  • November 19 - Thanksgiving Party - Kurt W. hosted our traditional Thanksgiving feast and potluck. Everyone brought a prepared dish and so there was plenty of feasting! This was also our annual general membership meeting and our annual board of directors election. We now have a few new faces on the board... congratulations go out to them!
  • November 12 - Star Party - John and Connie H. hosted a star party. Many members brought out their telescpes and binoculars and everyone enjoyed a great sky with perfect temperatures for nude sky observing. Thanks for a great evening John and Connie!
  • October 29 - Halloween Party - Karen M. hosted our 2005 Halloween Party.
  • October 22 - Croquet Party - Paul S. is hosted a Croquet party at his house to enjoy the great weather nude in his private and secluded back yard.
  • September 10 - HCN hosted their fourth annual nude boat party held at Hippie Hollow on Lake Travis. Nearly 150 attendees from all over the state were in attendance. The weather was fine and a great time was had by all!
  • July 16 - HCN hosted their "Midsummer Night's Dream" party which featured body-painting, great music and great food. Many attendees wore theme costumes and danced against the backdrop of the Austin skyline.
  • July 9 - Tie-Dye Party - Paul S. hosted a tie-dyeing party at his place.
  • June 18 - Fish Fry - Pat and Ray hosted a great Fish Fry and Potluck at their place on Lake Buchanan.
  • April 30 - Campout at McKinney Falls Park - Paul S. held a campout with some of his friends at McKinney Falls Park. HCN members were invited to join him in enjoyment of one of Texas' nicest - and for most of us, the nearest - State Parks. Watch this space for future campouts there!
  • April 30 - Eeyore's Birthday Party - Several HCN members attended Eeyore's this year and helped to demonstrate what it takes to "Keep Austin Wierd"!
  • April 23 @ 9:00 AM - Earth Day Hike along Barton Creek - Several members of HCN celebrated the planet we call home and took to the trails for a nice morning swim at our favorite swimming hole.
  • April 16 - Bare Buns Run @ Star Ranch - Several members of HCN competed in the annual Bare Buns Run 5K Race held at Star Ranch; some even ranked quite high in their categories! Congratulations!
  • April 3 - Capitol 10K Race - HCN was well-represented at the annual Capital 10K race held in downtown Austin.
  • March 26-27 - Weekend at Riverside Ranch - HCN members enjoyed a nice weekend at Riverside Ranch near San Antonio.
  • February 12 - Valentine's Party - Steve and Crystal hosted a Valentine's Party at their home in Austin.
  • February 6 - Super Bowl Party - Paul S. hosted a great Super Bowl party at his home.
  • January 22 - HCN held a nude sit-down dinner at one of our favorite Austin eateries.
  • January 1 - Several (allegedly nude) folks took an early morning plunge into the chilly waters of Barton Springs to properly celebrate the New Year!

 

2004 Events

  • December 31, 2004 - HCN members went to Riverside Ranch to attend Riverside's big New Year's Eve Bash.
  • December 18 - Several HCN members joined Star Ranch for their Christmas Party. They arrived a little late for the Best Christmas Cookie Contest but a large chunk of them were consumed nevertheless! Santa Claus made an appearance during the excellent White Elephant Gift Exchange. This was followed by a great Christmas Dance. Some folks took time to take a dip in the indoor pool, which was recently improved with new tiling. Everyone had great fun!
  • November 20 - HCN members gathered at Ted and Beth's house for a Thanksgiving feast!   The annual business meeting and board elections were held there as well.   There will be some new faces on the board for the upcoming year.   There was way more food than we could eat!   Thanks to everyone who attended for making it a success!
  • November 7 - A few HCN folks participated in the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure , an annual fundraising event to support breast cancer research efforts.   This year's event raised over $1.2 million!
  • October 30 - HCN held its annual Halloween Party at Karen's house.   Naturally, there were some very creative costumes!
  • October 22-24 - Some HCN members attended Don and Lauren's Halloween Costume Party / BBQ and others attended Riverside Ranch 's annual Alamo Line in the Sand 5K run.   This was part of the SWSA's Nude Racing Series .
  • October 15-17 - HCN members attended the Texas Singles' weekend gathering at Star Ranch .  
  • October 12 - Steve and Crystal held the monthly "Introduction to Nude Recreation" meeting at the Yarborough branch of the Austin Public Library.
  • October 9 - HCN members attended a potluck party at Ray and Linda's house.
  • September 18 - HCN members spent a day enjoying the water and the sun at Austin 's Hippie Hollow.
  • September 14 - Steve and Crystal held the monthly "Introduction to Nude Recreation" meeting at the Yarborough Library.
  • September 12 - Many of the Boat Party attendees from the previous day gathered for lunch at one of HCN's favorite local dining spots.
  • September 11 - HCN held its 3rd annual Freedom Fest Boat Party on Lake Travis .   It was ideal weather and was well-attended by many nudist folk from all over Texas .   Everyone had a great time!
  • August 7 - HCN held a potluck supper at Linda and Ray's house.
  • July 18 - HCN members hiked to a local swimming location.
  • July 17 - HCN held a formal life drawing art class at an Austin art center which focused on drawing techniques using chalk.
  • June 27 - HCN took a hike to a local location.
  • June 26 - HCN held a fish-fry party at Ray and Pat's house.
  • June 20 - 26 - SWSA had their convention at Nature's Resort in Edinburg , Texas .
  • June 19 - HCN had a barn party at Don and Lauren's ranch.
  • June 12 - Some HCN members participated in the Austin Naked Bike Ride .   Though this has been a semi-organized event for several years, this year's ride marked Austin 's formal participation in the first globally-organized World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) event.
  • June 6 - HCN took a hike to a local location.
  • May 22 - HCN had a 70's fondue party at Mike's house.
  • May 16 - HCN took a hike to a local location.
  • May 15 - HCN had an afternoon barbeque at Steve's house.
  • May 2 - HCN took a hike to a local location.
  • May 2 - HCN took a hike to a local location.
  • May 1 - The Southwestern Sunbathing Association (SWSA) Nude Running Series continued at Acorn Acres in Boling , TX.
  • April 24 - The Southwestern Sunbathing Association (SWSA) Nude Running Series continued at Wildwood Naturist's Resort in Decatur , TX .
  • April 18 - HCN had a ladies hot tub party at Karen's house.
  • April 11 - HCN took a hike to a local location.
  • April 09, 10 & 11 - Riverside Ranch will hosted a Travel Club Weekend.
  • April 4 - HCN took a hike to a local location.
  • April 3 - The Southwestern Sunbathing Association (SWSA) Nude Running Series continued at Star Ranch wth the Bare as you Dare 5K.
  • March 26 - HCN had a Pizza/Game party at Ted & Beth's house.
  • March 20 - HCN had a pool party at a member's home in south Austin.
  • March 13 - HCN had a St. Pattys party at Kurt's house.
  • February 28 - HCN had a " Belize " party at Francis' house.
  • February 21 - HCN had a massage workshop at Karen's place.
